    The United Kingdom U.K. is the first country that has liberalized export controls for Mexico, following Mexico’s accession to the Wassenaar Arrangement on January 25, 2012.     With worldwide presence at the 2012 Farnborough International Air Show, exhibitors attracted further interest in aerospace and defense manufacturing in Mexico. The six Mexican States with the largest Industry presence were: Baja California, Chihuahua, Jalisco, Nuevo Leon, Queretaro and Sonora. The presence of ProMexico and other Economic Development agencies enabled companies to further understand Mexico's strengths and weaknesses.     The Techno-Industrial Park of Castro del Rio is located in Irapuato, Guanajuato. According to Mexico’s publication, CNN Expansión, it has become a 'mecca' of auto manufacturing in Mexico due to large carmakers such as Nissan, Mazda and Volkswagen announcing expansion plans in the region.     On Monday, June 18 Mexico was officially welcomed to join the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) Talks. Mexico joins the U.S., Australia, New Zealand, Peru, Chile, Singapore, Malaysia, Vietnam and Brunei in a trade deal that will provide a link to expanding markets of the Asia Pacific region. Among them are companies that manufacture or re-manufacture components for electronics, automotive, aerospace, metal-mechanics, medical device and the consumable goods industries. These companies more than doubled the square footage of industrial warehouse space leased in Tijuana and Ciudad Juarez, adding close to 400,000 square feet of space to their manufacturing operations over the past 18 months.     The NAFTA Commission Meeting held on April 3rd in Washington DC issued a joint statement that outlines continued cooperation of Canada, the U.S. and Mexico to increase economic competitiveness and trade among the 3 nations. Since NAFTA was signed in 1994 trade has more than tripled from $288 billion to $1 trillion.
