February 3rd, 2014 -- Recently, PepsiCo Inc. announced their intention to take advantage of the benefits offered by turning to Mexico manufacturing. The company plans to invest five billion dollars over a period of five years into their operations south of the United States border. January 29th, 2014 -- Cisco is the latest major U.S. company to move a portion of their advanced technology operations to Mexico. Mexican President Enrique Peña Nieto and Cisco CEO John Chambers announced from Davos, Switzerland that Cisco’s plans for manufacturing in Mexico would be increased. Mexico manufacturing of automobiles hit a record high in 2013. The Mexican Automotive Industry Association (AMIA) reported an increase of 1.7 percent over the previous year, bringing the yearly total to 2.93 million vehicles produced. Production growth is readily apparent in Mexico, with automotive giants Nissan, Mazda, Honda, Volkswagen, and Audi all building assembly plants to join the existing Chrysler, Fiat, Ford, General Motors, and Toyota.
